Revolution
In response to this Instapundit post on an article more or less call for revolution against the ‘bush regime’ in Salon, Ace of Spades HQ, had this say:
when disaffected, no-account fantasy-race-warriors joined militia movements in the nineties, the media was all a-twitter at this dangerous threat to our nation’s stability. Nevermind that the movement was decidedly fringe and small, and that a lot of the people involved weren’t particularly hard-core politically. They just liked running around the woods with guns (which, I have to admit, sounds kind of fun).
But when mainstream left-liberals write of violent revolution in not-at-all-fringe left-liberal magazines, no one in the media seems particularly bothered.
I honestly have to agree with the media here. Even a few heavily armed ‘militia’ folks could present serious problems. Does anyone really worry about a ‘violent’ liberal revolt though? These people don’t even own guns, let alone know how to use them effectively.
Oh come one… there are at least as many liberals as conservatives in the military–or so my liberal friends always tell me–so they clearly know how to lead an armed insurrection…
