Book Review
I recieved Richard Miniter’s book Disinformation : 22 Media Myths That Undermine the War on Terror for Christmas. It is a is very interesting read and I highly recommend it.
Although I am pretty well informed there were a couple of things in it that surprised me. For example, I was aware that the CIA funding Bin Laden meme was exaggerated, but I didn’t realize that it was in fact totally false.
One nice thing about the book is that it is a balanced account. It is just as hard on the myths of the right (the uncontrolled Mexican border is a great danger to our national security) as it is on those of the left.
