This is why an uncompromising stance on free speech is important. It both prevents that sort of thing from happening here (and it could, and not just about Islam) and makes it clear in places where violence has already silenced the debate whose side we are on.
Free speech isn’t just a nice thing to have, it is a necessary defense against tyranny.
