Fatah, Hamas agree on Palestinian PM
Senior Hamas officials confirmed Monday that the organization had agreed with Fatah to name Mohammed Shabir to head the next Palestinian Authority unity government.Moussa Abu Marzouk, deputy to the Damascus-based Hamas political bureau leader Khaled Mashaal, told The Associated Press in the Syrian capital that the two major factions have agreed on the nomination of Shabir.
It isn’t official yet, but Shabir seems likely and he seems to be reletively moderate in his outlook, or at least as moderate as we could hope for. Hopefully this will lead to greater peace, both within Palestine and in the relations between Palestine and Israel. Obviously, there is a long way still to go.
