Castro Reportedly in ‘Grave’ Condition
Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro has had at least three failed operations and complications from an intestinal infection and faces “a very grave prognosis,” a Spanish newspaper reported Tuesday.A Cuban diplomat in Madrid said the reports were lies and declined to comment.
Whether this current report is true or not, Castro won’t be around too much longer. I hope that when he dies we will be able to move toward more normal relations with Cuba, and perhaps Cuba can also modernize its economy and move forward. Cuba has quite a bit going for it, and under the right circumstances I think it could do well.
