Blog Reporting

Also check out this report by Bryan Preston and the great stuff from Michael Yon and of course Michael Totten. I expect that most of my readers have already read this stuff, but if you haven’t, perhaps because you are one of my liberal readers and think that this is all just a bunch of rightwing bull, I urge you to check it out. The reporting is in depth, informative and while I think all of those writers might be considered ‘right wing’ from some perspectives, I think you will be pleasently surprised at how honest an assessment they make of things.
I have frankly been stunned by the quality of what they are producing, and I think Glenn Reynolds is right that big media should be worried. I didn’t expect this, I figured that we would always have to count on big media to provide ‘the news’ and that the most bloggers would be able to add was some analysis. These people are proving that that is not necessarily the case. Of course, in the very act of proving this they are bluring the line between themselves and ‘big media’ but that is a good thing to.
In any event, the bloggers are producing the most griping and informative accounts of the tumultuous events in the middle east (and also local bloggers, from Iraq and elsewhere are added into this.) Certainly I wish them well, and am more then a little jealous that I can’t be there doing the same thing.
