It's not inconsistend, you're right! Chinese occupation has given the Tibetans free medical treatment and has rid them of lama rule which bogged down economical life and enslaved the locals for many millenia. Israeli "occupation" in the "West Bank" and formerly Gaza gave a lot of simple Palestinians (you know the ones not involved in terror) hope and money they don't enjoy in Hamastan.

I haven't researched Avaaz's positions on Israel. I don't think they are relevant to a petition on Tibet and it is not necessarily inconsistant to be for both a Tibet that is not under Chinese rule and a Palestinian occuppied territories that are not under Israel's rule.

Sure you do. It's logical. It's one and the same organization treating completely different (as you noticed) problems.

I am not sure how material that is to this particular issue. I don't have to agree with their views on Israel to agree with them on Tibet.

Dave, did you know that Avaaz is a far-left "for-peace-at-all-costs organization? They're also in favor of forcing Israel to proclaim a unilateral ceasefire with Hamastan and let the bastards rain rockets upon the Western Negev, Sderot, Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Tel-Aviv in the nearest future.
